In this session we will discuss the history, feedback and consultations that have shaped the QA standards and revised program submitted for approval at the 2024 AGM. We will also address the frequently asked questions and concerns coming from the network. The second half of the session will be spent working together to discuss the priorities and direction of the QA program for 2024 and beyond.

About Our Speakers

ISHA KHAN
Isha Khan (she/her) is a lawyer, educator and community leader dedicated to building a culture of human rights in Canada and beyond. Her professional experience includes her tenure as Executive Director and Senior Counsel of the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, where she advanced several important rights-based initiatives and public education campaigns. She is also a dedicated community volunteer who served as Board Chair of United Way Winnipeg. In August of 2020, she began her role as CEO of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
Throughout her life, Khan has helped build communities where everyone is respected and empowered to reach their full potential. She continues that work at the Museum, engaging people around the world in a growing movement for hope and human rights.

NATHAN CARR

Nathan Carr is a public affairs and crisis communications expert with a decade of experience managing complex challenges in public perception for clients across Canada, the US, and the UK.
Prior to founding his own firm, Apollo Public Affairs, Nathan honed his expertise working at two national and international public affairs firms based in Toronto, helping clients achieve their goals with government, navigate public and regulatory scrutiny, and mitigate risk.
Nathan’s diverse experience in managing public scrutiny and high-stakes communication has spanned, among other experiences: Canada’s largest and longest post-secondary faculty strike, a major national consumer product recall, corporate bankruptcy at a publicly traded corporation, and Ontario’s long-term care providers during the pandemic.
Nathan is a graduate of York University’s Political Science program, Algonquin College’s Public Relations Program, and has advanced certification from Cornell University in Crisis Communication Planning.

Dani Gomez-Ortega
Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader
Dani Gomez-Ortega is an inclusion advocate with a passion for empowering others to create more inclusive spaces. Dani has provided diversity and inclusion training and support to audiences across various sectors for 10 years. She is also an MBA candidate at the Ted Rogers School of Management. Dani’s past clients include the City of Ottawa, Ontario Hospital Association, Canadian Red Cross, and Startech.com. Most recently, Dani was featured in the book “Global Changemakes for a Feminist Future” by Dr. Gayle Kimball. Dani’s work and commitment to inclusion are shaped by her lived experience as a Latinx, immigrant transgender woman with an invisible disability.

Over almost two-decades of actionable insight-driven thinking, Ryan has developed an innovative approach to behaviour-led strategic planning that has seen him working for agencies, start-ups, political campaigns, global brands and being the recipient of multiple national marketing awards.
As VP, Head of Strategy at Toronto-based advertising agency, Humanity, Ryan works with clients across Canada to help their brand play a more meaningful role in the wellbeing of their brand communities.
His keen sense of observation and love for understanding our humanness, makes him a dynamic storyteller who finds the insights in our everyday.
