Federation Strategic Plan At a Glance
Big Brothers Big Sisters has launched a new strategic plan to Unify, Innovate and Lead Boldly.
We held over 70 consultation sessions and 510 engagements. The robust process that led to the co-creation of this Federation strategic plan was informed by young people and families, agency leaders, service delivery staff and boards, mentors, National Office staff and board members from every active region across the country. These engagements also included external partners across education, health, community organizations, funding, and government. While the goals are shared, there is flexibility in how they are achieved. This approach recognizes that agencies and partners work in different contexts and serve different community needs. There is a place for each of us to ensure young people have access to Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring.

Young people are navigating a lot and they shouldn’t have to do it alone. From mental health and social isolation to rapidly changing technology and economic uncertainty, growing up today is complex.
A mentor can make a difference. Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring experiences provide young people with the intentional relationships they deserve to succeed. Mentorship works and we have the data to prove it. The need is significant: more than 3 million young people across Canada need us.
Meaningful mentoring relationships help young people build social-emotional competence, support mental health and well-being, and strengthen educational engagement and employment readiness. When young people thrive, your community thrives. And that drives economic progress.
Be part of the solution. Volunteer. Donate. Partner. There is a role for you. Together, let’s make life bigger for young people.
