Before this training, I tried to be aware of issues regarding different groups and marginalized people, but I really liked how this Paying It Forward training has allowed me to hear a lot more voices.

I really learned a lot about how different people value their identity and equality.

I work with a couple youth organizations, and I am happy to say there is a lot of diversity and inclusion and because I have now heard so many more perspectives, I can use that in planning and getting to know youth in those other programs.

I have been looking more into people’s stories and reading books by Indigenous authors and looking at those sources because history is my point of interest, so it has really prompted me to investigate Canadian history and Indigenous history.

I really liked how this Paying It Forward training has allowed me to hear a lot more voices.

My coordinator has been amazing with helping me find so many opportunities to help people and to better myself. My most impactful moments are the breakthroughs I have with my mentee.

The moments I get to spend with them and learning through them has changed the way I see the world.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has allowed me to explore myself along with all the people I meet through different trainings and experiences.

I think it is a really underrated organization, I love sharing my experiences with Big Brothers Big Sisters with my peers and I hope everyone can see the potential in mentoring so Big Brothers Big Sisters can keep impacting those around them.

Thanks to Canadian Heritage for supporting the Paying It Forward project!
