Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) is seeking a National Data Analyst to play a critical role in analysing the organizational health of our federation and ensuring that we are positioned to serve even more young people in need of mentoring programs in the future.

For over 110 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada (BBBSC) has been championing the health and wellbeing of young people across the country by supporting over 80 member agencies in a united Federation. The BBBSC national office provides the Federation with support, resources, and guidance, including a national quality assurance program, pan-Canadian mentoring programs, centralized data-collection, shared technology infrastructure, and national fundraising and advocacy campaigns. Together, we mobilize thousands of volunteers who in turn mentor 33,000 children and youth.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
In recruiting for the National Data Analyst, we are looking for someone who can design data collection tools, optimize existing information, synthesize data from multiple sources, identify trends, and create analytical reports and dashboards. The role provides crucial insight and interpretation to support operational and strategic objectives.
This is a 1 FTE (35 hours per week) position that reports to the Vice-President, Operations. As our Data Analyst, you will:
- Interpret data and provide insights and recommendations on the organizational health and potential of our federation.
- Collect, clean, and organize data from internal and external sources to support organizational reporting and analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Business Intelligence dashboards and reporting for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with BBBSC departments to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Conduct in-depth analysis on programs, operations, and to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare written reports, presentations, and data visualizations for Federation Members, the BBBSC National Office and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure data accuracy and manage processes for regular data validation and audits.
- Support data governance, cybersecurity and privacy compliance in collaboration with IT and Operations.
- Create and/or assist in the creation of surveys, polls and other data gathering media.
- Maintain documentation and guides for data systems, reports, and analytical procedures.
- Keep up to date with trends in the fields of analytics, data modeling and visualization, statistics and probability and/or information processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support data-informed practices and organizational learning.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality and optimize collection processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
In addition to being a team player and analytical thinker the successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in data science, statistics, computer science, information management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in data analysis, preferably in a not-for-profit setting.
- Proficient with data visualization and analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Experience with database creation, querying and using statistical analysis tools.
- Ability to transform complex information into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and a commitment to equity and youth empowerment.
- Bilingualism (oral and written English and French) is an asset.
