Boston Pizza believes that strong role models inspire kids to be great. Through Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects’ national partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boston Pizza restaurants, franchisees, and guests are building a better future for children across Canada.
Since 2013, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects has generously invested over $3 million to support the expansion of mentoring services in new communities across Canada. As of December 2018, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects is championing youth engagement across Canada through the Big Brothers Big Sisters National Youth Mentoring Advisory Council (NYMAC).
NYMAC is a consortium of young people from across the country that have knowledge and expertise in mentoring. NYMAC is involved in initiatives such as our Youth Engagement Strategy (YES) – a collaborative effort between the Council Members, Big Brothers Big Sisters staff and external youth-serving agencies, which aims to improve mentoring opportunities for the mentored youth in Canada through youth involvement.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is deeply grateful to Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects for committing an additional gift of $195,000 to the expansion of NYMAC, and the continued implementation of the YES. NYMAC members provide leadership to Big Brothers Big Sisters for national programming, public policy and other issues related to youth mentoring.
The increased support from Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects will support the work of NYMAC in 2018/2019 including, but not limited to, in-person and online meetings and participation in key events such as Day on the Hill and Big Brothers Big Sisters’ National Convention.
As a youth-led organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters is proud to partner with Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects to inspire and build the capacity of young people to shape the future of youth mentoring in Canada.
