Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) is looking for a National Coordinator of Quality Assurance, Bilingual (French/English) who plays a critical role in facilitating a federation-wide quality assurance program in support of organizational excellence and safe, quality mentoring programs for children and youth across the country.

For over 110 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada (BBBSC) has been championing the health and wellbeing of young people across the country by supporting over 80 member agencies in a united federation. The BBBSC national office provides the federation with support, resources, and guidance, including a national quality assurance program, pan-Canadian mentoring programs, centralized data-collection, shared technology infrastructure, and national fundraising and advocacy campaigns. Together, we mobilize thousands of volunteers who in turn mentor 33,000 children and youth.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

As a National Coordinator, Quality Assurance – Bilingual, you have knowledge and skills related to quality assurance in the not-for-profit sector, ideally achieved through both training and on-the-ground experience. You are fluently bilingual (oral and written in French and English). You are analytical and you have a strong work ethic. You are detail-oriented, and you have an understanding that your work supports the big picture. You have strong listening skills and a readiness to foster supportive relationships with BBBS agencies of all sizes and in various regions across Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

In recruiting for the National Coordinator, Quality Assurance – Bilingual, we are looking for someone who can ensure smooth operation of the federation-wide quality assurance program, including conducting reviews and providing guidance and support to more than 80 member agencies. The role also provides crucial logistical, administrative, and technical support to the national office team and assists in the review, revision, and creation of tools, resources, and quality assurance processes.

This is a permanent full-time position that reports to the National Director, Quality Assurance. As our National Coordinator, Quality Assurance – Bilingual, you will:

  • Facilitate quality assurance reviews with BBBS member agencies across the country.
  • Provide support and guidance related to National Standards and the quality assurance program to the national office team and to BBBS agency leaders and staff members.
  • Assist in investigations related to federation and organizational health and quality and safety of BBBS mentoring programs.
  • Recommend and support initiatives involving research, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the national office team and BBBS agency representatives to create and disseminate tools and resources.
  • Work closely with the national office team on the development and implementation of its operational plan.
  • Maintain documentation as per the BBBSC requirement, including the receipt, storage and facilitated access of information.
  • Assist in analyzing information using predetermined standards, matrices and tools.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned from time-to-time.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

In addition to being a team player, quick learner, and analytical thinker, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Fluent bilingualism (oral and written French and English) is required.
  • A degree or diploma in social or human services, organizational development, evaluation, quality assurance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accreditation, program evaluation, project management, social services, or a related field, preferably in a not-for-profit setting.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to equity.
  • Experience using evaluation tools and/or reviewing and analyzing results of evaluations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze, prepare, and present information in a clear and concise manner;
  • Advanced Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive); Advanced MS Office Suite (Excel, Word);
  • Enthusiasm for role and ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently and reliably in a remote environment.
