RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
This is a permanent, full-time position that reports to the National Vice President, Strategy. As our National Research Analyst, you will:
- Design and lead qualitative and quantitative research initiatives to inform program design, training and strategic priorities.
- Conduct environmental scans, jurisdictional reviews, and sector research to identify trends, emerging practices, and opportunities.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from internal and external sources to support program development and innovation.
- Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for programs and strategy.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to inform the design, refinement, and scaling of programs and service models.
- Prepare written reports, briefs, presentations, and knowledge translation for Federation Members, the BBBSC National Office, and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of research methodologies and outputs.
- Support the development of research tools such as surveys, discussion guides, and data collection frameworks.
- Maintain documentation of research processes, methodologies, and key findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
- Stay up-to-date with trends in research methods, youth development, and the non-profit sector.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support evidence-informed program design, training and organizational learning.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
In addition to being a team player, quick learner, and analytical thinker, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s or PhD preferred for advanced roles)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience with research methodologies and data analysis tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python)
- Experience with survey design or experimental research
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- May work in academic, government, or non-profit settings
- Can involve independent work as well as team collaboration
